ICONIC SAN DIEGO, 2023

Torrey Pines Golf Course" is the official Mother-Daughter collaboration painting of 2023. Once a year, artists Krista and Kathy Schumacher join forces to create one collaborative painting to be released in the mother-daughter collection, accompanied by a series of originals inspired by a particular theme. This year's theme is "Iconic San Diego" and this collaborative painting depicts the artists' interpretation of the Torrey Pines Golf Course.

Notably, the unique characteristics of each artist's imagination is found in this collaborative piece. As such, the painting is graced by Kathy's unmistakeable florals, and luscious green pastures while Krista's presence is undeniable in the form of a pink sweeping sky, rugged purple mountains, and pacifying waters.

This specific setting of this painting was inspired by the course's hole number 15. Rather than focus on an identical representation, however, the artists made it their mission to portray a feeling brought to life in a painting. In doing so, they have emblematized a sensation elicited only by the Torrey Pines Golf Course.

The painting highlights the beautiful stretch of land nestled between the wind and the sea, which previously served as a military training center called Camp Callan. We can only speculate that the breathtaking views and picturesque fields helped inspire the dedication and precision of both the military men and golfers alike.
